A very substantive, well-thought out and non-combative post was removed from the Gaza Double Standard threa with no warning; no removal notice and no chance to save my writing there.
I need an explanation. That is a prettt egregious move to make.

I thought you’d be used it.
The post was a string of flat denials and thoughtless ranting. So, low effort, basically. Here are some quotes:
You seem to think removing all context, misleading your readers and being patently authoritarian in your apparent omniscience is a good move Jamal. We’ve been here. You are incapable of neutrally moderating.
You are incredibly dishonest, emotional and make up reasons to remove posts. I violated absolute no guidelines. You are just a bully.
If you have the balls, post the entire reply. Go on….
If I were such a bully and an authoritarian, you would definitely not still be here.
Nonsense. Other posters actually make it worth the time and you rarely wade into substantive discussion. You’re a footnote until you wield your inability to moderate.
You’ve never beaten these accusations. You just pretend you’re justified. Sounds familiar doesn’t it
@Jamal’s excerpts demonstrate that this is not the case. It seems to me that if the post were as you described then it would not contain so many problematic parts.
You’d note he’s posted about 8% of it. Without context, this is not possible to know.
None of those are problematic in context unless you object to the word “shit” in which case i don’t care.
One is my rejecting a claim that came with absolutely no evidence. If that’s problematic it’s not in the guidelines and isn’t part of normal human discourse
@Jamal @AmadeusD
I assume Jamal also removed @Athena’s post in which they declared that Israel had no right to exist, and ranted about “Jews in America”. Good call; it was revoltingly anti-semitic, IMO.
Nope. The blatant antisemitism is still there.
I am not a moderator and therefore I am going to avoid getting into an explanation of why I think those excerpts are sufficient. But simply as someone casting a vote, they seem sufficient to me. I also have not read a single post in the thread.
Yes, I deleted that one too.
Because Jamal has removed context and mislead readers.
That’s the problem with having this power.
Not by the time of my second reply here. Funny that…
I don’t have any reason to believe that @Jamal is misrepresenting things, but there is a simple solution: just don’t write posts that can be excerpted in that manner.
I deleted it maybe half an hour ago. I had not read more than the first few words of the post before that.
Ok, fair enough. Thank you.
Leon - yeah except he’s cherry picked from a post that’s about 700 words. That is plenty of reason to believe it. I didn’t even get a notice about the removal. It’s extremely weird.
@Jamal unrelated but since it’s the same thread and you’re already busy answering things here. Since my last post in that thread, it keeps thinking I posted less than an hour ago so I can’t add any comments to it for 2 or 3 days already (instead of the 1 hour brake that’s on it).
Fwiw, me too. Not sure but I don’t mind at this stage - unsure if it’s a featureor not
Okay, I suppose that is a fair point, so long as a notice is not thought to imply an automatic right to a long and laborious process of remediation.
If these quotes are actually the problem, then remediation would’ve taken 20 seconds. Instead, Jamal claims the entire post was “a rant”
That’s the response of a genuinely bad interlocutor.
