Abstract: I will explain how and why Matter culminates in Life using a purely metaphysical and logical process—light years away from any materialistic reductionism. What is extraordinarily metaphysical here and by far never done before, is that the exact same logic apply on the Life > Thought and Thought > Data transitions.

The Matter > Life transition was the hardest one for me to construct starting only with the MCogito logic of categories self-construction. The result, however, is blindingly obvious and logically ultra-simple: the real problem is to locate the exact metaphysical level where this simplicity occurs, this is the hard part.
Before reading the text below, I encourage you to try to find, by yourself, a causal logic between the background of the Universe with its myriads of galaxies, and a single bacterium, as two consecutive categories of Being.
5.3 TheMatter > Life transition
The metaphysician does nothing but say 1=1, endlessly.
The bi-topological nature of the carrier being: DNA is a molecule, i.e.,a being under external control, strictly material, and at the same time it codes all living beings, all beings under internal control.
Topically pure beings: we can propose rotational material systems (planets, solar systems, galaxies) which, through a permanent dynamical return to self, balance inertia and gravity and create their own local external law. For example, the solar system is the causal externality of the Earth’s motion: it is the projection of physical laws onto an object they have created. Rotational systems are described by so called chaotic equations, unstable and unpredictable (example: the equations of weather), which describe a dynamics of permanent return to self, return to initial conditions, stabilized around statistical structures called strange attractors. At the most fundamental level of particles, the spin—the internal rotation of the wave function across the particle’s dimensions—is the very source of Matter. It is the primordial topological return-to-self where Quanta phase-shift and transform into Matter.
Dynamics of mirroring: mirroring is a progressive process of projection of the Being-code topology into topological pure beings, up to the prebiotic chemical soup, where physical causal externality ends up facing itself in the replication mechanism (in the same way that biological causal internality creates its own image in the mechanism of absolute mimicry, or psychic causal betweenness in the Turing mechanism): a replicating molecule is a causal externality since it is destined to control, to define the whole milieu—the whole Universe—by its exponential duplication. But in doing so it is first of all confronted with itself, with its own copies: there is mirroring of the externality, which is the completion of the permanent return to self of rotational material structures.
DNA is the reflection being, the meta being of physical laws in a material being that they have constructed: DNA is a law of organization of matter, which is exactly what physical laws are; and they are the only two sources of creation of material objects. DNA is therefore the projection of physical laws into one of the beings they created: a mirror being, a meta being, the external of the external—which is the internal.
Topological calculus: in a replicating molecule in mirror, whether with or without code, each strand is defined by its homolog and reciprocally. The definition of this physical being is therefore entirely situated inside the molecule: there is an inversion of the external of matter into the internal of life.
Appearance of code by chemical recursive infinity: one can imagine first molecules that photocopy other molecules, then meta molecules that replicate the replication mechanism, creating a chemical recursive infinity stabilizing on a code. Coding is an immense advantage compared to replicating molecules with fixed structures devoid of code, since one has a single being to replicate and an infinity of possible final forms. In fact everything is there before our eyes (as almost everything is in this model): the prion protein photocopies its shape by simple contact; the coded RNA molecule can take two associated forms in a “ribozyme”, with one carrying the code and the other interpreting it, without need for a cell.
Totality relation: DNA is a physical being, a being of the external, defined from its outside by physical laws. At the heart of the idea of outside one finds the idea of unilateral separation. But the external definition of DNA is itself, i.e.,the homologous strand: there is absolute non separation, internality. The identity of DNA as a being with external definition is constructed from the pure negation of that identity. Topologically DNA is the Totality: the self defined from the non self inside the self.
Dephasing and transmission of constructivity: like physical laws DNA is invariable in time, duplicating identically. But being material its code undergoes mutations, for example due to radioactivity, which dephases it from itself: this is the source of the constructivity of living evolution.
Saturation of possibles: we posit here that the pre biotic bath and its terrestrial and astronomical environment saturate the possibles of physics in terms of control, i.e.,in terms of transformations of energy and creation of chemical material forms. This means that a coded replicating molecule will not be swallowed by a gaping hole in terms of mastery of physical fundamentals: temporal stability, space, energy, chemical control of matter, etc. As a counter example one can think of crystals, the very example of infinite duplication, but without an ambient saturation of the possibles of matter.
Real infinity: DNA is the only molecule, the only material object, that has the power to create an infinity of biological material forms and to transmit constructivity to the human species and the psychic. DNA thus effectively manages to define the whole Universe, but through Thought.
Causal autonomy: life knows only life and in fact knows nothing of matter. DNA deals only with replication and cellular control; purely physical atomic issues have been erased upstream by continuous cellular functioning. In general, a living organism knows only itself, i.e.,its living way of being in the world, of controlling itself from its inside. A swallow knows practically only itself flying, and everything associated with the fundamental living problem: reproduction and nutrition. All physical reality is reified in terms of the organism’s self controls: energy is reified as hunger, for example, or time as reproduction.
Meta causality of life over matter: it is intrinsic to DNA, which presents itself directly as a material law defining material objects, as a meta causality of matter.
Singularity of the carrier being: as a material object, DNA is an ultra specific and singular object—for example, the only natural object that functions from code.
Upward external physical link: the surface of the Earth confines the infinity of DNA, i.e.,prevents the exponential duplication of DNA from unfolding and forces it to work with limited physical resources.
