TPF funding drive: target reached! šŸŽ‰

Ah! I feel better. Thanks.

But I’m considering going with the Aged Genghis… We’ll see.

TPF Supporters: Target Reached

Good news. We now have 17 ongoing subscriptions to the new account, totalling £90/month. We also have 13 active subscriptions to the old PayPal account, totalling about £55/month.

That gives us Ā£145/month (around $185), which means we’ve comfortably exceeded our $120/month Discourse bill.

On top of that, we’ve received four very generous one-time payments, totalling Ā£800. This means we currently have plenty of money to keep the site running and even upgrade to the Pro Plus plan if necessary (this depends on how much storage we use for images, and how many monthly page views we get).

We received more than we needed, which is a wonderful problem to have.

Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Cheers!

Where did we hide the cava for special celebrations like this one? :bottle_with_popping_cork:

That’s a relief on my part.

Here’s to TPF continuing!

It’s incredibly sad that this is so. Only 17 subscriptions worldwide!

It’s surprising (and please forgive me for this) that subscriptions to some girl’s website, even one that doesn’t show ā€œanything special,ā€ are so much more active.

This is by no means a criticism of philosophy, but a statement of a contemporary’s preoccupation: a subscription to a resource that promises to show breasts (but doesn’t) seems preferable to a subscription to a site that reveals the truth (but doesn’t).

It’s a shame.

Eh.

I’m just glad we get to go on as we do. I’m in no way surprised that other sites are more popular in terms of subscriptions.

I wouldn’t focus on sex-sites as a competitor, either. I think it’s just that this is something of a niche on the internet, which is also a niche in regular life: People like sex more than conversations attempting to pick apart their beliefs or at least exploring ideas which they are not familiar with. One is comfortable (and desired), the other uncomfortable (for many) though exciting for us.

…allow me a little humor…

I’m more than convinced that no consensual sex is possible without a moment of philosophy. At the very least, you should mutually define yourself beforehand, otherwise everything turns into animal instinct.

Perhaps you should position yourself as a training course for successful self-understanding, which will facilitate positive responses in life? =))))

And in any case people can get philosophy discussion for free in several places online, on Reddit, Philosophy Stack Exchange, and on forums like this. Making avatar-uploads subscribers-only seemed to work as an incentive. I draw the line at offering sex videos.

No sex here. I was just joking about how the slightest hint of breast exposure generates more interest than the long, contradictory texts we generate here.

I’m very glad you succeeded. And thank you again for your work.

Yes, and I was joking about the sex videos :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thank you.
