Hello there,
I joined the other day and I have to say: I’m very impressed with the website so far! It’s like going back to 2005, but with improved functionality.
Two things I ran into though…
-
There’s a limit to how many posts a newbie can respond to. I guess it makes perfect sense as a way to make sure trolls don’t spam the forum. It does suck however for the well-intentioned user who wants to dive in.
More importantly, I haven’t been able to find the specific rules for this trust system. I received a seemingly arbitrary prompt that I reached my limit and could resume posting in X amount of hours. I’m wondering though if this is going to remain a problem for a while, until I reach a higher trust level? And how does one become more trusted? -
That brings me to my second point. I’m willing to pay for a subscription to get past this point, however I wasn’t really reassured this would lift the restrictions. And, we can only pay for a subscription via credit card. Wouldn’t it make sense to open up other methods of payment, like paypal? I don’t feel too comfortable giving out credit card information… Especially since there’s so little information available on this particular trust system and the financial obligations of purchasing a subscription… for example, am I locked in for more than a month?
I’ve read the guidelines and terms of service, but couldn’t really find an answer to these questions. If I missed them somehow I do apologize and will ofcourse delete this post.
Thank you!
