Hi everyone. I’m Robert Miles, 56, from Stonehouse in Gloucestershire, England. Not a physicist — just an ordinary bloke who’s been quietly turning this idea over in his head for a while.
The Regulators:
I believe black holes are the Regulators of our universe. They pull in everything on every imaginable scale — from the smallest moons and planets, through entire stars and solar systems, all the way up to whole galaxies, and even light itself — and reduce all that mass down to its most fundamental particles. Stripped completely clean. No history. No data. No memory of what it once was. Just pure, virgin mass.
That’s the starting point of the whole idea.
The Hinge:
I once heard an astrophysicist say that black holes, at the very end of their lives, slowly dissipate through something called Hawking radiation. That sent me reading about Stephen Hawking’s work on the information paradox. What he found is that information isn’t actually destroyed. It gets reflected back out through that radiation, back into the universe it came from. So here’s how I see it: the Regulators keep the clean virgin mass locked inside themselves, quietly collecting it over unimaginable stretches of time. But everything else — every thought, every memory, every choice, every experience encoded in the matter they swallow — gets reflected back out and preserved right here in our universe. The mass goes in. The information comes back out. That’s the hinge the whole picture turns on.
The Cycle:
The Regulators gather that clean mass patiently, over cosmic time, until exactly the right critical amount has been collected. Then the singularity bursts through spacetime itself. What looks like an ending is actually a Big Bang — the birth of a brand new universe. In that new universe, the fresh fundamental particles immediately begin interacting with one another, and through those very first interactions, they create their own dark matter. The cycle simply carries on. It never needed a beginning and it doesn’t need an end.
The Akashic Void:
Meanwhile, our universe keeps expanding. It speeds up or slows down as actions, thoughts, chemical reactions and cosmic events come in and out of existence — each one nudging the fabric of things in its own small way. Eventually, over time so vast it makes a billion years look like a blink, all the mass gets regulated away. What’s left is an ever-expanding, massless Void. And I believe that Void is the Akashic Record — an eternal library of pure consciousness. Every memory, every wish, every hope and every dream that was ever reflected back out is still there. Forever.
That ties everything back to the information preserved right at the start.
The Question:
If you don’t act on the thought or the feeling, the synapse in your brain never fires. That signal never comes into being. That particular possibility simply vanishes before it ever exists. But when you do choose to act — that signal fires. It’s real. It’s physical. It’s made of the same fundamental stuff as everything else in this universe. And through quantum entanglement, information can transfer instantly, without crossing the space in between. Not spooky action at a distance, as Einstein put it. Just the universe connecting things that have no business being connected by ordinary means. Every choice you make brings a new slice of reality into existence. And that slice gets preserved. Forever. Science Is Already Reaching for It. Science has already started catching and using these exact signals in the real world. There are trials where small implants bypass damaged eyes or broken optic nerves and feed electrical signals directly into the visual cortex — giving blind people their sight back, admittedly not 20/20 but sight none the less. They’re literally catching the same synaptic signals and turning them into livedexperience. In this picture, those are exactly the signals that get reflected and preserved forever. Science is already reaching for them.
The 52.4% Echo:
Thought bubbles — the actual physical structures — are 52.4% empty space. More than half of every thought, at the physical level, is nothing. That emptiness isn’t a flaw. It’s an echo. The same proportion of nothing that lives inside a single thought eventually becomes the emptiness of the entire universe — the cold, still, massless Void that is the Akashic Record. The universe doesn’t end in fire or ice. It ends in the same quiet space that lives inside every thought you’ve ever had.
The small and the vast are made of the same nothing.
Beliefs:
Gods and religions? Lovely lifestyle choices that bring real comfort and community to a great many people. This idea doesn’t argue with any of them.
What This Cosmology Covers:
In this philosophical cosmology I’ve tried to bring together some of the biggest open questions out there:
• The black hole information paradox and Hawking’s discovery that information is preserved, not lost
• The role of black holes as cosmic regulators of mass
• The true nature and origin of dark matter
• The birth of new universes through black hole singularities
• The ultimate fate of our own universe — the massless Akashic Void
• Quantum entanglement and the instant transfer of information across distance
• How our thoughts, choices and synaptic signals shape reality
• The role of consciousness and information in the structure of the cosmos
• Why the universe speeds up and slows down as events come and go
• The 52.4% emptiness inside every thought echoing the emptiness of the final ‘Void’
• The emerging science of neural implants already reaching for the very signals this idea describes.
The black holes only regulate the mass. We are the ones who decide what information gets preserved in the final record.
That’s why I believe we really do make our own reality — not as a bumper sticker, but as a literal description of how the universe works.
