Abstract : this post demonstrate a new concept of causality that works the same for any category of beings : material, living, thinking.
In my first post : Breaking the [Nature-Human] bi-categorical framework of Philosophy I logically explained why, in the defective bi-categorical [nature-human] framework of Philosophy, it’s impossible to create any working metaphysical system and why general philosophy is an endless neurotic arguing (for a canonical example have a look at the “taxonomy of hinges” thread).
By switching to the self-evident [matter-life-thought] multi-categorical framework I could define Being as code-controlled structure and categories of beings as being-code topologies.
In the second post The [ Non-Being [ Being ] ] logical Totality is the [quanta>matter>life>thought>data] structure of Reality I showed that reality is a set of five categories of beings, interfaced by special carrier beings.
This post will explore the causality of categories, i.e. how beings interact and self-create inside a category and how categories relate causally between themselves.
4.6 Causality proper to each category — Causal independence through meta causality
Because of the equivalence matter=life=thought as a uniform source for the construction of beings, each category of being is causally independent of the others, which it does not know at all. Life knows only life, thought only thought, and matter only matter. Since the numerical is at the end of the quanta>matter>life>thought>data series, it offers an exact image of this absolute causal independence: any reality can be created in computing, but the computer’s internal dynamics know only binary code, because all inputs and outputs appear there only in already coded form at specific locations in memory. Likewise DNA code knows only itself, i.e., feedback loops inside the cell that return to DNA code. Language manipulates only shared ideas, which know only other shared ideas through language. And of course material phenomena reduce solely to univocal physical law.
This causal independence is really easy to understand: a causality is always a meta causality, an over causality that takes control of the underlying causality. In a living organism the molecules that constitute it are under the control of its DNA code. The psycho neuronal functioning of an individual is under the control of human ideas, which exist between individuals through language. The quantum multiplicity of particles is collapsed by the macroscopic material object that contains them.
Of course one causality cannot modify an underlying causality: DNA does not modify the laws of physics, for example. It creates an autonomous causal order of a higher degree.
Here we can propose a rather deep idea about the central role of code for causal independence: it is the fact that a being is referred to its code that brings its sub causal content—that is, belonging to the previous category—under control.
4.7 Causal lightness — throughput of beings — categories linking
Causal lightness: each category mobilizes more or less energy in the creation of beings. Creating a pre biotic planetary system requires far more energy than creating a living species, and infinitely more than creating an idea, and googolplex times more than creating digital code.
The link between categories is trivial and comes only from the speed differential in the construction of beings. It is much faster to construct a new living species than a solar system, and enormously faster to construct an idea than a living species, and infinitely faster still to construct a digital simulation: roughly 10 billion years of evolution of physics since the Big Bang to construct an Earth capable of producing the pre biotic chemical soup; 1 billion years for the biological to construct the human being; 1 million years since the appearance of language; and 100 years for the digital to reach effective AI. Overall we have a factor of about 1000 between categories. Beings of higher categories know only themselves, but being produced with a much higher throughput of beings, they tend to mold from the outside, the forms or characteristics of lower beings. The relation between categories passes through the outside, by flocking of beings. Living beings become more and more adapted and knowledge becomes more and more precise, i.e., molds ever better the beings of the slower lower categories: words know only words—i.e.,ideas only ideas—but the network of shared ideas ends up molding the objects of the slower categories of life and matter; likewise the digital manages to reproduce any idea in code.
4.8 Upward link: external control of category n by category n−1
We can distinguish an upward link that passes through the outside from one category to the next, through fundamental forms of level n that will be primitively molded by category n+1 and thus condition it. This is how a domain which in itself is an infinity absolutely independent is held on a leash by the previous domain. For example Thought in itself is totally free and has nothing to do with the biological, but it is carried by the human species, which exists only insofar as it respects the constraints of the living, the most powerful being animal life in ethnic “troops” and selective sexual reproduction. In other species these constraints are handled by instincts, behaviors neurologically predefined. But the neurological is not an actor in the domain of ideas: only Thought can create ideas. Because of the causal independence of the psychic, the biological (i.e.,evolution) is forced to pass through the outside, through the appearance of bodies, so that in early childhood Thought creates primary ideas that are very constrained—ideas instincts—which will have exactly the same effect as instincts. By analyzing how the very long growth and the very marked sexual difference of the human body shape the infinity of Thought, one obtains an animal and sexual anthropology grounded metaphysically, from which one can metaphysically construct a Politics—the anti-predation—disruptive of our Judeo-Athenian moral enslavement.
