Self is “I”. Everyone knows who they are. They have their own names, DOB, and their lived experience etc, and the whole of that knowledge about them is their “I”. For amoeba splits, you better ask amoeba which one is the original. I doubt they have mind to know about it. It is a wrong example to consider here.
Self is the mental entity which has mental events of the individual. If you have a self, then you can call the self, yourself. It is a grammatical usage and knowledge.
You cannot assert something is different from your actual self, if you didn’t know what your actual self is. If you really didn’t know what your actual self was, then your claim was empty and blind, which sounded self contradictory.
I never said you made statements what your actual nature was. I was just pointing out the logical flaws in your statements.
