Is The Universe Size Scary?

Maybe I need to read your opening post now. To me, if all the stars exploded, which obviously includes the sun, I am not sure how ‘you’ could be ‘shielded’ nor be ‘saved’.

‘Super massive’ relative to ‘what’, exactly?

‘Super massive’ relative to ‘what’, exactly?

The Universe is living, but It certainly is not a nightmare at all. Well, not to me anyway. But, It may well be a nightmare, to you or others.
There is NO such thing as ‘our minds’.

The Universe being infinite, in size, some people find this ‘mentally’ hard and complex. But, in Reality, the Universe is a very easy and simple Thing to comprehend and understand. And, far, far easier and simpler than most people even imagine.

I am not sure who ‘you’ are referring to here, exactly, but the Universe is just infinite, spatially, and eternal, temporally, with stars of different sizes, and the Only Mind ‘knows’ all of this, already. Which, by the way, is NOT hard nor complex at all.

When did you realise that the Universe is infinite in size?

Why is this a ‘nightmarish scenario’ for you, exactly?
Were you believing or presuming that ‘you’ were not going to, what is called, “die”?

The sun is a star also, so if all the stars exploded, then, because the sun is close enough to directly effect human beings, ‘you’ would be affected directly.

Well, since the Universe created every thing, and ‘you’ and the ‘mental capability’ within all human bodies is a condition of the Universe, Itself.
Now, considering what ‘you’ are, exactly, if you choose to believe that the Universe is to ‘test’ ‘you’ or not, then that is directly up to ‘you’, exactly.

What is there to ‘wonder’ in regards to ‘human beings’?

Depending upon ‘the definition’ of ‘supernatural’, absolutely any thing above, beyond, or apart from the Natural is impossible to exist.

No matter how many times you minimize, behind all of the ‘compact simulation’ there obviously has to be a ‘Reality’, also knows as the ‘universe’, Itself.

When I found out the actual size of the Universe, I found this to be rewarding, satisfying, and fulfilling.

No.

Not that there is an edge of the Universe, but travelling for 700 trillion years is relatively nothing compared to the eternal Universe.

Super massive in comparison to the size of an atom, or 1-part of itself.

We’d die if all the stars exploded, and if for some reason you didn’t die, an anomaly would probably occur, shielding/saving us.

Given the universe’s size, there is reason to fear. We experience a lot of this fear subliminally.

We must have been conditioned over the time we’ve lived in the universe.

I don’t think the universe is infinite in size. I believe in infinite light, but not infinite space.

The universe exploding would be a very hard graphic to take, we’d probably die before we got to witness the whole event.

Yes, the Sun exploding would affect us directly, we’d definitely die.

When I say “I think humans are the greatest wonder in the known universe” that means I think we are complete marvels of nature - and it fills me with awe - our vast organic complexity able to produce all the functions we do - especially our brains capable of language, science, literature, and art … our great capacity for creativity.

It seems that too much space is preferable to too little space. What is disturbing to me is how little space there is relative to the effect of our industry on the globe. We as a species aren’t greatest stewards of resource management. We have made the world smaller by our discovery, knowledge and the numbers of people around us.

Though this is likely misconceived on my part. The Earth is much larger than I intuit but the way and where I live makes it feel rather small, overcrowded and restricted.

Guess this might just be the bias of clausterphobia. The giant spaces beyond the Earth, severely inhospitable to life, make everything we have feel too small and insufficient. Add in the vast numbers of us all competing for limited resources and the required regulatory codifications of life.

If our solar system was filled with Earth like planets we could easily hop to there might be less anxiety for me about the unbridgeable emptiness of space. But even then everything would probably be owned and I’d still carry anxiety about losing my pot to piss in.

Why are big things scary? Aren’t elephants (supposedly) terrified of mice?

Why, when you said what you did, were you speaking and writing from the comparison of ‘an atom’?

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea nor clue as to why you say and write this here.

What is the difference, if there is one, of ‘fearing’ “dying” by way of ALL the stars exploding, by being run over and “dying” by a fruit truck, of “dying” from a bee sting, or by “dying” from cancer, for example?

Are you talking about a ‘fear’ of “dying”, itself, or a ‘fear’ of only “dying” by ALL of the stars exploding?

I do not know of anyone who ‘fears’ the size of the Universe?
Do you ‘fear’ the size of the Universe?
Does anyone here ‘fear’ the size of the Universe?

Of course, human beings have been conditioned over the time they have lived in this One only Universe.
Is there any particular ‘conditioned thing’ that you are thinking about here?

Okay.
I know the Universe is infinite ‘in size’. And, eternal ‘in time’.

Okay. Could this ‘belief’ of yours somehow be ‘conditioning’ ‘you’ to ‘fear’ the size of the Universe?

Do you have any ‘reason’ that the whole Universe could ‘just explode’, which could then be making ‘you’ ‘fear’ the Universe just happen to explode in your roughly 80 or so years of living?

Thank you for answering and clarifying.
When it is done it is very refreshing. Well, to me, anyway.

Okay, and thank you also for answering and clarifying. I really do appreciate when people do.

Now, the reason WHY human beings separated from ALL of the other animals is that human beings just have the ability to learn, understand, and reason, (any and every thing). NO other animal has this capability.

Human beings are born naturally curios, combined with the brain and a storage and recall capability, this is WHY human beings have come to have language, science, literature, art, and to have created everything that human beings have.

However, human beings are no more complex nor more simple than any other thing. Human bodies are made up of the exact same things as every other physical thing is, including the Universe, Itself.

Human beings are NOT more of a marvel to anything else that has existed, is existing, or will exist. The way humans have evolved into being who and what they are is just the result of the eternal Universe coming to ‘know thy Self’.

Human beings were just the last, of a long line, of organic matter evolving. Some ‘thing’ with enough intelligence, and with enough storage capacity, with recall, was ALWAYS going to eventually evolved. Human beings were just the last ones in the continual evolving line in Creation before ‘I’/ the Universe came to know thy Self.

Human beings are NOT the ‘complete marvel’ of Nature, Itself. Human beings are just the last stage, or last step, before the True marvel of ‘Nature’, Itself, is and was revealed, and known.

Human beings were admittedly ‘needed’ in order to finally reach the knowing of thy (True) Self, but, then again, so what everything else prior, which led up to human beings eventually evolving into being created.

Human beings once were, but sadly that was lost when human evolved into becoming and being greedy and selfish beings. But, ‘this’ was for a purpose, and so that the ‘greatest steward of resource management’ could and would come to into Being and be Known.

That argument is a misunderstanding and misrepresentation of religion, or what religion represents. Although I do understand the idea that people might have created God and therefore religion, in their own minds, as a way to feel relevant, important, or to have a significant meaning within an unknown, often hostile world. Or that other psychological, or evolutionary accounts that justify the idea that God and religion are a human invention bare philosophically weight.
But to simply deny the validity of religion due to the size of the universe, or how what an insignificant speck we are, misses the point and validity of religion. Indeed in the Bible reference is made of the size of the universe; “In my father’s house are many mansions”.
There is no inherent conflict between science and religion, they can co-exist and live along side each other without the necessity to defeat, or discredit the other.
